T r a d i t i o n o f t h e O l e n t z e r o The tradition of Olentzero is celebrated in the Basque Country, Navarra and in the South of France. It's celebrated on the 24th of December at night. The Olentzero goes on a parade, the people give him letters and the Olentzero gives us sweets. On this parade, people wear typical costumes from the Basque Country known as Casero and Casera costume. At night the Olentzero comes to our houses and he leaves presents under the Christmas tree. If the kids behave badly the Olentzero gives them coal. He lives in the mountains with his wife Mari Domingi. The olentzero is approximately 50 years old. In this picture you can see Freddy Moon dressed as the Olentzero for Christmas Celebrations.
